Welcome to Canterbury Dressage
Canterbury Dressage was established 65 years ago by a group of riders and volunteers who shared the passion of creating a harmonious partnership with their horse. They achieved this through gaining knowledge, applying correct training and with the support and friendship of like-minded others. This philosophy remains the same today.
Being a branch of Equestrian Sports New Zealand (ESNZ) who are the umbrella body of equestrian sports in New Zealand we adhere to their guiding rules and principles.
We are located at the beautiful grounds of the South Island National Equestrian Centre – McLeans Island where there are top quality facilities including numerous all weather arenas, covered yards, camping facilities along with jumping and hacking areas.
Canterbury Dressage provides regular competitions for all level of riders from unregistered through to those competing at the highest level. We aim to provide education and coaching events to promote development opportunities for all levels of riders and horses.
Our Judges are trained and required to pass National and International standard assessments therefore we are able to provide you with quality judging.
A very hard working and dedicated team of volunteers manage all our events and without them we would not be able to provide you with the very successful branch of Canterbury Dressage.
Everyone is Welcome. We look forward to seeing you at our next event and invite you to get involved!
